Day of Community Service & Social Responsibility

Not even a pandemic could stop the young men and women who conduct Comité Noviembre's day of Community Service and Social Responsibility. Annually, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, our youth volunteers wake up at dawn to pick up and deliver 800 turkeys and bags full of potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, apples, and peppers to the organizations being served in Yonkers and Bronx communities. Last year, the day was raw and cold but each one of these volunteers worked hard, filled with energy and big smiles on their faces as they unloaded turkeys and produce off trucks, adhering to social distancing and CDC rules. Each location provided a specific safe distribution plan for both volunteers and the community.

The following non-profits benefited from this day: Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York (Westchester, Yonkers), the Charter School for Educational Excellence (Yonkers), Hope Worldwide, Inc. (Bronx) , and the New York Church of Christ (Bronx).

For the past seven years, Comité Noviembre and its partner Precision Concierge New York (PCNY) have distributed over 6,000 turkeys to families in need, feeding over 30,000 individuals during the Thanksgiving holiday. PCNY is a high-end concierge service company which involves its clients in charitable activities. In total PCNY will donate over 10,000 turkeys to families throughout the New York City metropolitan and Westchester area.

The Comité Noviembre Day of Community Service and Social Responsibility will take place on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 24, 2024, because our communities continue to need our assistance. Comité Noviembre and PCNY will be adhering to social distancing and CDC rules. Each location will provide a specific safety distribution plan for both volunteers and the community.
